3 Minutes in Europe -September 14, 2001

I heard today on the news at 12 noon in Europe today
There was silence for 3 minutes
All over Europe, you could hear a pin drop
It was so quiet
It was time to become the praying kind
For the American and International victims and those around them
For those assisting the injured and dead
No matter where in Europe, the sights were probably the same
No one worked
No one played
People stopped when they heard the bells of the churches
In Dublin - The Irish
In London - The British
In Paris - The French
In Rome - The Italians
In Stockholm - The Swedes
In Copenhagen - The Danes
In Amsterdam - The Dutch
In Berlin - The Germans
And the rest of Europe as well
Rich and poor stopped
Royalty and ordinary people stopped
Famous and not so famous people stopped
They stopped and prayed
They stopped and stood there
Some even got on their knees
Some even got out their rosary beads
To remember those who died
To pray for the recovery of the injured
To have God's 1000's of angels watch over their families and friends
To have God guide the minds of the world's leaders to a peaceful solution
And ensure justice for those who had to suffer by being hurt or dying
May God rest the souls of the dead
And bring healing to the minds and bodies of the injured as well...Amen
