I've been the girl who never really got noticed
The one overlooked simply because I was different
I never felt beautiful or believed that I was

It took a simple phone call
With several simple words "You are Beautiful"
Words I never heard any man tell me till that night
You made me speechless and nearly cry

As I have never heard those words from any man till then
I realized what made me different
Made me beautiful in his eyes

I was never raised to think i was beautiful
I was never raised to think i was special
But it took 1 person to convince me i was beautiful
And I'll be forever grateful
And keep in my heart those words

I'm the type who doesn't dress up much
Or wears much make up either
And yes in the morning with out make up
I can scare a few people

But he didn't mind one bit what i looked like
He sees into my heart and sees a true friend
Someone who is beautiful inside and outside

Eyes that light up when he spoke words of kindness and love
A smile when she got a hug
A feeling of protection & love when he held her hand or had his arm around her
Memories to be forever cherished
As she may never get to experience them again
Or it will be a very long time to experience them again
