Dublin Sky

It is set in Dublin, Ireland of course... present day... near the River Liffey and the famous Ha'penny Bridge... and at a pub near the river front... and 2 different flats in the city with amazing views of the city...

I've been down a lonely street tonight,
And I don't know what's wrong with me,
I don't know what's wrong with me

A young man walks into a pub to drown his sorrows after leaving the love of his life - he made the mistake of leaving her & realizes what he's done wrong... and hears Darren strumming the familar start to this song and starting to sing... Unknown to the young man, his former love is there in the pub on the other side with a few friends of hers when they start paying attention to Darren's singing...

Clouds cover up a Dublin Sky,
I don't know what's left of me,
I don't know what's right with me...
And I try to keep my distance,
And I sang amazing grace
I tarnished al our memories
But there will always be a trace of you...
Of you....

He found a small box in his pocket with a piece of jewelry he wanted to give her and his mind goes back in time to happier times in park along the River Liffey near the Ha'Penny Bridge in Dublin... Falling in love with her and vice versa...

She wipes the tears from her face as Darren continues to sing to the pub patrons... all eyes seem to be on him....

I remember laughing on that rivers edge.
Trying to get you to jump with me,
Trying to get you to fall for me...
And your trembling heart, it beats so fast.
Holding hands you promised me,
Holding hands we counted to 3.
And I felt your slipping fingers,
And I saw you changed your mind.
If I hadden't dragged you in with me, you would have left me dive without you

The young man pulls a picture of her from his wallet... the picture is well worn from being with him... She has a beautiful smile and a look to her that he loved... She isn't beautiful in the way most people would think - She is considered plain to most people but he fell for her pretty quickly... She has long brown hair and hazel eyes... and then another picture of them together on their first proper date falls out of his wallet without him knowing it had fallen out...

Oohhhh
Without you...
Oohhhh

He crumbles the photograph a bit and lets it fall to the floor of the pub while Darren continues to sing... He fights his tears....

They send you all the way from Hollywood,
And maybe that Dublin Sky was changing you, It put diamonds in your eyes
I always thought we were gonna make it through,
But I wanted to hear it first from you...
Oohhhh....

She shows a picture to her friends of the two of them on holiday in America... a sign of happier times... but she still tries not to cry and lets the picture of the two of them in an embrace with the Hollywood sign in the background fall to the floor... partly crumbled.... and as it falls... a tear falls from her eyes and then she leaves alone..... so does he... He walks back to his flat in the rain like she is.... neither person knew the other was at the pub....

The scenes switch to the flats the same night they were in the pub hearing Darren sing ... Darren's song continues to play and he is singing to a crowd... you can see inside the flats .. both of them live alone and separate lives now... they are on their beds in their bedrooms....

How many days am I gonna regret you
How many nights till I forget you
Have I been wasting all those years
Held down by these tears

She is clutching an old brown teddy bear and crying her eyes out.... He is on his bed lying on his stomach fighting his tears as he sees on his desk in his room a picture of the two of them celebrating her birthday together...

How many dreams have I left to serve you
How many hopes have been diverted
Have I been buried in the dirt
Held down by this hurt

She sits there still clutching the bear and wiping her tears.... He gets off the bed and throws the picture in the frame on the floor... the glass shatters a bit ....

How many loads did I let you hijack
How many ways can I study the playback
How did I end up lying here
Crying underneath a Dublin sky

She opens the door to her balcony where she can see in the distance the River Liffey with the stars in the sky barely visible due to the clouds passing by from the rain that just stopped falling.... He goes onto his balcony a few floors above hers never looking down to see her there....

How many days am I gonna regret you
How many nights till I forget you
Have I been wasting all these years
Drowning in my tears

She looks up to see a young man on his balcony leaning on it with hands and not realizing right away it is he... then she looks away and wipes a tear away... He calls out her name but she doesnt pay any attention....

How many nights am I gonna regret you
How many days till I forget you
Have I been wasting all these years
Drowning in my tears

She returns back into her flat and he into his then they go for a walk down the dark streets of Dublin with .... Fade back to the bar where Darren finishes singing to another group of people there... He is outside along the river edge.... then at the end of the song he packs up his guitar and leaves the pub and sees the couple walking down the street.... towards each other with tears in their eyes.... and as the camera pulls away... the couple embraces gently in Darren's presence.... and the song fades away.... to the end....
